Fort Bragg Military Academies Fair
High school students and their families are invited to attend Fort Bragg Child and Youth Services’ 19th Annual Military Academies Fair on Monday, September 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Soldier Family Readiness Group Center, located in Building 236 on Interceptor Street on Fort Bragg. Meet representatives from U.S. service academies, military colleges and ROTC programs, and learn more about admissions, preparation and opportunities available to students. The event is free and open to the public, and you do not have to be military-connected to attend. For more information, call 910.366.4730.
Consolidated College Fair
Cumberland County Schools and the Carolinas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (CACRAO) have partnered to offer the Consolidated College Fair on October 6 in the Horace Sisk Gymnasium on the campus of FTCC from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. for all high school students and their parents or guardians. Admissions officers from more than 60 colleges and universities will be in attendance. Students should pre-register for the event through strivefair.com to be able to receive information directly from admissions officers during and after the event.

2027 Military Child of the Year® Nominations Now Open
Operation Homefront is accepting nominations for the 2027 Military Child of the Year® Awards, recognizing outstanding military-connected youth ages 13–18. Anyone—including students, siblings, friends, teachers, family and community members—may submit a nomination. Seven recipients, representing each branch of military service, will receive $10,000, a laptop, additional gifts and a three-day family trip to Washington, D.C. The free program is open to children of active-duty, Reserve, National Guard, Gold Star and retired military members. Nominations are open through December 1.
