Cumberland County Schools (CCS) has launched a new CCS Excellence: Family Support Request Form to make it easier for families to know where to turn when they have a question or concern and need additional assistance.

When a question or concern arises, families are encouraged to begin with the teacher, school staff member, administrator or district department closest to the situation. This gives the people most familiar with the matter an opportunity to listen, respond and work with the family toward a resolution.

If additional assistance is needed, families can complete the new Family Support Request Form. CCS’ School Support Services team will review the request and connect the family with the appropriate school or district department for a response and follow-up.

“Family engagement is about building relationships, communicating openly and working together on behalf of students,” said Dr. Lindsay A. Whitley, Associate Superintendent for Communications & Community Engagement. “We want families to know where to begin when they need help and to know there is a clear path for additional support when needed. As we work toward our North Star of becoming the highest-performing school district in North Carolina, it will take our families, schools, staff and community working together.”

The Family Support Request Form is one more way CCS is working to strengthen connections with families, support schools and departments and help families navigate district resources.
