Cumberland County Schools (CCS) hosted its signature Standout Seniors Luncheon today to honor the exceptional achievements of 17 graduating seniors from the Class of 2026. The students and their families, school administrators, district leaders and Board of Education members gathered at the Embassy Suites in Fayetteville to celebrate this milestone.
Launched in 2019 by the district’s Communications and Community Engagement Department, the Standout Seniors Program highlights the remarkable stories of outstanding students who are poised to make a difference in the world.
The highlight of the luncheon was the Standout Senior Reflections presented by CCS Associate Superintendent of Communications and Community Engagement Dr. Lindsay Whitley. Each distinguished graduate shared their future aspirations before receiving special tokens of recognition from CCS Superintendent Dr. Eric C. Bracy.
During the event, the audience was treated to a beautiful musical rendition of “A Whole New World” performed by CCS Music teachers Toccara Patrick from Elizabeth Cashwell Elementary and Jared Miller from Terry Sanford High, who set an inspiring tone for the afternoon.
"These honorees have demonstrated resilience, leadership, compassion and determination throughout their educational journeys," said Dr. Whitley. "We are incredibly proud of each of them and excited to see the impact they will make in their future careers, communities and beyond."
