The Governor’s School of North Carolina is a four-week (June 21–July 18, 2026) summer residential program for academically or intellectually gifted high school students, integrating academic disciplines, the arts and unique courses on each of the program’s two campuses. Established as the oldest statewide summer residential program of its kind in the nation, Governor’s School provides a rigorous and enriching experience designed to challenge and inspire North Carolina’s most talented students.
Students selected to participate in this prestigious program represent the highest levels of academic and creative excellence across Cumberland County Schools. Their selection reflects not only their individual achievements, but also their commitment to learning, leadership and personal growth.
