Cumberland County Schools Recognizes Three Outstanding School Counselors

Cumberland County Schools (CCS) proudly celebrates three exceptional school counselors who have been recognized with School Counselor of the Year honors.

Belinda Jacobs of South View High School has been named CCS' 2026-2027 School Counselor of the Year while Karen Pope also from South View High School and Ashley Sanders from Westarea Elementary School were named as the district's 2026-2027 Beginning School Counselors of the Year.

School counselors play a vital role in student success across Cumberland County Schools, supporting academic achievement, guiding career and college exploration and providing critical social-emotional support. These honorees exemplify excellence in counseling through their leadership, compassion and unwavering dedication to students and families.

CCS proudly recognizes Jacobs, Pope and Sanders for their commitment to empowering students and strengthening school communities across the district.
