Cumberland County Schools is proud to recognize this year’s nominees for the North Carolina Governor’s School, a prestigious summer residential program for gifted high school students. The district is represented by 34 Academic nominees, selected by the CCS Governor’s School Selection Committee, and 41 Arts nominees, chosen through local school-level selection processes.
These outstanding students will now advance to the state-level review, where final participants will be selected for the program administered by the Public Schools of North Carolina in collaboration with the State Board of Education and the N.C. Department of Public Instruction’s Office of Advanced Learning and Gifted Education. All nominees will be notified of their selection status in March 2026.
