11.24.25 Stategic Plan Release

Cumberland County Schools (CCS) welcomed a group of students, educators, staff, elected officials, military partners and community members for the first meeting of the Strategic Plan Steering Committee. The gathering marked the start of a shared journey to imagine what CCS excellence should look like in 2031 and how the district can prepare every student for life after CCS.

CCS Superintendent Dr. Eric Bracy opened the session by centering the work on students. “Behind every goal is a child, and behind every decision is a future that deserves our very best,” he shared, setting the tone for the evening.

Committee members worked in small groups to envision the future, reflecting on what they want people to say about CCS students in 2031 and what priorities must guide the new Strategic Plan. They also revisited the district’s mission, vision and core values, considering how these foundations should shape the plan’s direction.

The Steering Committee will continue meeting throughout the year to help craft a community-driven roadmap centered on student achievement and long-term success. CCS will also provide additional opportunities for families, staff, students and community partners to share their input as the plan develops.
