Cumberland County Schools (CCS) has launched a new Family Ambassador Directory to help families connect with the individuals who support family engagement in schools across the district. The directory includes each school’s designated Family Ambassador along with photos, brief bios and a “Connect with Your Family Ambassador” button. Families may access the directory by visiting the CCS website.
Each attendance area is guided by a Lead Family Ambassador who collaborates with district staff, supports school-level Family Ambassadors and temporarily fills vacant roles to ensure families always have a point of contact.
Family Ambassadors are trusted volunteers who help strengthen family engagement to support better academic outcomes for students and can earn up to $100 each month for completing engagement tasks. They help families navigate school information, share timely updates and connect families with the appropriate CCS staff or resources.
Several Family Ambassador positions across the district remain open, and families, guardians and community members are invited to apply. More information and the application link are available here.
“Our Family Ambassadors help ensure families feel informed, welcomed and connected,” said Dr. Lindsay Whitley, associate superintendent for Communications and Community Engagement. “This directory makes it easier than ever for families to reach the support they need, and we look forward to welcoming new ambassadors who want to make a positive impact in our schools.”
