Cumberland County Schools (CCS) is now accepting applications for its 2025–2026 Family Ambassador Program, a district-supported initiative designed to deepen school-family partnerships and promote student success through community-based outreach.
Originally launched in January 2023, the Family Ambassador Program has been revamped to provide enhanced training, greater flexibility and stronger district-level support. Ambassadors will help bridge the gap between home and school by sharing timely district information, connecting families to resources and supporting family engagement efforts across their attendance area.
“Strong family-school partnerships lead to better outcomes for students—in attendance, behavior and academic achievement,” said Dr. Lindsay Whitley, associate superintendent for Communications and Community Engagement. “The Family Ambassador Program empowers trusted community voices to meet families where they are and ensure every child has the support they need to thrive.”
Family Ambassadors will receive a Gmail account for communicating with families and will be listed in a districtwide public directory. Participants will attend monthly meetings, receive monthly toolkits and collaborate with other ambassadors. They may earn up to $100 per month by completing engagement tasks aligned with district priorities.
Applicants must pass a CCS background check, be available for monthly meetings and attend a summer orientation session.
The deadline to apply is Friday, Aug. 15, at noon. To learn more and submit an application, visit the CCS website.
