Cumberland County Schools (CCS) is proud to announce that 1,536 high school seniors earned their diplomas during five graduation ceremonies held yesterday at the Crown Coliseum. These ceremonies mark more than just the completion of high school—they celebrate a new beginning for students who are prepared to thrive in college, careers and life.
Graduates from the Class of 2025 at Douglas Byrd, E.E. Smith, Gray’s Creek, Cape Fear and Pine Forest high schools are prepared to take on the world. From more than $6.2 million in scholarships awarded to over 9,600 hours of community service and more than 3,100 college credits earned, these graduates are heading to colleges and universities, launching careers, joining the military and carrying valuable industry credentials that set them apart.
One graduate earned the prestigious, full-ride Park Scholarship to NC State University, while another received a full-ride appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. These accomplishments reflect not only their dedication but also the strength of the support systems around them—at school, at home and across our community.
