New Director of Arts Education

The Cumberland County Board of Education has approved Dr. Daniel McCloud as the new director of arts education for Cumberland County Schools (CCS), following a recommendation by Superintendent Dr. Marvin Connelly, Jr.

Dr. McCloud brings more than 20 years of experience in music education and leadership. He currently serves as orchestra director at Pine Forest High School, Pine Forest Middle School and Howard Hall Elementary School, coordinating orchestra programs for students in grades 5–12. Prior to that, he spent over a decade as director of university bands at Methodist University, where he led multiple ensembles and taught a wide range of music courses. He has also held teaching and conducting positions at Angelo State University, Ball State University and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

He holds a Doctor of Arts in Percussion Performance and Instrumental Conducting and a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance from Ball State University. He also earned a Master of Music in Conducting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
