Bio:
My name is Rhonda Godwin. I worked with Cumberland County Schools for 32 years, spending most of my career as an administrative assistant. I retired in June of 2025 and am now enjoying this new chapter of my life. I've been married to my high school sweetheart for 31 years, and we have one son, Hunter Godwin who is 24 and works in the plumbing department with Cumberland County Schools. Family is very important to me, and one of my favorite pastimes is spending time with them. We also have two dachshunds, Ellie Mae and Bohdi, who are definitely part of the family! We love taking them camping and making memories together.
What inspired you to become a Family Ambassador?
My years working in CCS system inspired me to become a Family Ambassador because I have seen firsthand how important it is to have someone who will listen, provide information and help connect them with resources they need. I would love the opportunity to continue serving families in this way and use my experience to make a positive difference in my community.
What are you most excited about in this role?
I'm most excited about the opportunity to connect with families, build relationships and being a resource they can turn to when they need help. I'm looking forward to using my experience to help families feel more connected to their school and community.
Fun Facts - Share a fun or surprising fact about yourself
I have a small side business that I run from home and at vendor events and it has grown into something I really enjoy and do quite well with. Fall is definitely my favorite season because that's when my caramel apples are in their prime. :)
What's one thing you love about being involved with your school community?
I live and work in the Beaver Dam community. One thing I love/looking forward to is the opportunity to build relationships with families, students and staff. I enjoy being someone that people can turn to for help.
