Meet Max Abbott Middle's Family Ambassador!
Bio:
I am an active duty Army spouse and have over 15 years in nonprofit management. I have worked for military connected organizations like Hiring Our Heroes and Blue Star Families and currently work for a donor firm to conduct research on donor behaviors. I care about community and served as a city council member for the City of Dupont, WA giving representation and a valuable voice to military families in the community. In 2022, I was named the Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year, repressing the JBLM, WA community. I participated in the Military Spouse Advocacy Network’s Military Spouse Leadership Development Program, where I graduated with certificates from the National Leadership Institute at Harvard Business School. Other accomplishments include my selection to the Fayetteville Leadership Academy, and a 40 Under 40 by the South Sound Business Journal in WA. I hold a BA in Communications, a MS in Nonprofit Management and am currently halfway through a Doctorate of Strategic Leadership and hope to utilize my education and experience to lead a nonprofit organization to measurable impact in the communities I live in.
What inspired you to become a Family Ambassador?
We are a military family and it's important to make other military families (and local families) feel welcome during a critical time and transition in their children's lives.
What are you most excited about in this role?
I am excited to get to know more families and help advocate their needs to the school district.
Fun Facts - Share a fun or surprising fact about yourself
I have played the flute since middle school and play with the Fayetteville Symphonic Community Band.
What's one thing you love about being involved with your school community?
I think the Max Abbott Middle School Principal is a rockstar. I would love to continue on process improvement and to find ways to better disseminate communications and information to families.
