Meet Attendance Area 3's Lead Family Ambassador!
Bio:
I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I am married, have 1 son and 3 grand children. I am a Army Veteran and a retired educator (27 years). When asked, I help 1st year teachers improve their classroom management skills. I am currently a Real Estate Broker (33 years). I belong to many community organizations where I assume various leadership positions. My hobbies are Event planning, buying, remodeling and selling houses. I also love to entertain and travel.
What inspired you to become a Family Ambassador?
I decided to be a Family Ambassador for the following reason: While working in the school system for 27 years, I witnessed many parents not taking an active interest in their childs education. When the Family Ambassador position came available, I decided that I wanted to help parents become more engaged in their childs education. I want to be another resource for parents to encourage and educate them on whats happening in the school system.
What are you most excited about in this role?
I have been volunteering as a Family Ambassador for 3 years. This year as the Lead Family Ambassador for Attendance Area 3. I am excited to work with the Family Ambassadors at Jack Britt High School, New Century International Elementary School, New Century International Middle School, John Griffin Middle School, Stoney Point Elementary School and E. Melvin Honeycutt School. Collectively as a team, I know that we will be able to reach out to more families making an impact on their involvement in the schools. Teamwork will make the dreamwork in fulfilling the goals of the Family Ambassador Program.
