Bio:
I am a bilingual, mix race Afro-Latina, mother, wife, licensed clinical social worker, and Army veteran. My hobbies include horticulture, theater, and traveling. I am a native New Yorker but have lived in the south for over five years.

What inspired you to become a Family Ambassador?

I was inspired to become a family ambassador because of the opportunity it gives me to connect with families and assist families with understanding and/or navigating their school system. The community support afforded by this program helps to give students the chance to grow socially and academically, while meeting the needs of the student's family.

What are you most excited about in this role?

I am excited to meet new families, get to know staff, and build stronger community connections.

A surprising fact about myself is that I am mechanically inclined and enjoy tinkering on my vehicle.

What's one thing you love about being involved with your school community?

I love being involved with my school community because it gives me a way to amplify voices that may not always be heard and it builds needed connections between families, staff, and students.
