Meet Howard Hall Elementary's Family Ambassador!
Bio:
I, Eva Houston-Henderson, am a wife, mother, Retired Army Veteran (21 years) and an active member of my community. I am a Board of Directors member for the Fayetteville Greater Chamber of Commerce (3 year term), and have been a mamber for over 18 years. I also serve on the Government Relations Committee and Military Affairs Council at the chamber (communicating and collaborating with the community, elected council members. and military officials).
I am a Graduate of North Carolina A&T State University and serve as the Fayetteville NC A&T Alumni, Secretary (2nd year).
I hold other membership affiliations through out the community in the masonic houses, however, having held positions as PTA/PTO President through out my children's years of education, I am looking forward to working in the system as an Ambassador, with the hope of sharing and bringing new and bold ideas to the front of this journey.
The need of resources reaching the families and potentially students inspired me to become a Family Ambassador. They resources are available, but where and how to get their hands on the information, I hope to be that missing piece of the puzzle and help bring it all together for them.
I love music, fashion dance and serving my community.
I graduated from the Fayetteville Leadership course, Spring 2025 and became a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated in Spring 2025 as well.
I am mostly excited about this role because I will be assisting families and their children by opening doors in the system, showing them places they never thought existed and working to get them engaged and actively involved with the teachers and the plethora of resources that exist. This enables them to be successful, and involved in the success of their children, hopefully monitoring them as they move forward, with them too as parents gaining information and knowledge.
Fun Facts - Share a fun or surprising fact about yourself
I can be funny at times, however most of the time, it's just to get my point across.
What's one thing you love about being involved with your school community?
Seeing results of actions put in place. Hoping for happy families and their students.
