Meet Cliffdale Elementary's Family Ambassador!
Bio:
Hello Cliffdale Elementary families,
My name is Mary Beckford, and I’m fairly new to Fayetteville. My family and I moved here about three years ago from Oklahoma, and we’ve already fallen in love with our new community.
My husband, Ty, is currently serving in Jordan, so right now it’s just me, our 6-year-old son Zaire, and our dog Harlem at home. From Monday through Thursday, I work with autistic adults, and as soon as I’m off, I’m helping with homework and shuttling between sports, Boy Scouts, and music lessons. Life definitely keeps me busy—but I don’t mind; it helps the time go by faster!
When I do get a chance to slow down, I enjoy planting, building Legos, and volunteering in the community through the PTO and local board meetings. I truly believe that when we all work together to make our school a better place, we help our children make the world a better place too.
Here’s to a wonderful rest of the school year!
What inspired you to become a Family Ambassador?
What inspired me most to become a Family Ambassador is knowing that I can make a real difference within the school community. Our teachers work so hard, and many parents are doing their best while feeling stretched thin. Being able to serve as that bridge of support—a friendly point of contact who helps connect families and staff—truly motivates me to do more and give back in any way I can.
What are you most excited about in this role?
I’m most excited about really getting to know each other and building a close, supportive community where everyone feels connected, valued, and—most importantly—heard.
