Meet Brentwood Elementary's Family Ambassador!
Bio:
My name is Linda Mack. I am married , all of my children are adults and most of my grandchildren are as well. I am blessed to be the great-grandmother of a student at Brentwood Elementary. I am an avid volunteer in my community and I have instilled volunteerism and giving back to others in all of my grandchildren, They have all served with me on many community events, feeding the homeless, Cure for Cancer walks etc. I enjoy traveling, cruising is my favorite way to travel. I am currently a Volunteer Ambassador & Part Time Recreation Assistant at Bill Crisp Senior Center. I love helping people. You never know what one kind word can do to make someone's day.
What inspired you to become a Family Ambassador?
First the name Family Ambassador- caught my attention to me it means that I am to be an advocate/representative for our parents and children .The family dynamic has changed so much it's not only single parents but grandparents that may be raising children and each family has different needs it's not a one size fits all solution. As the Family Ambassador for my school I hope to provide hope, and encouragement in my community to get families involved in the education of their children.
What are you most excited about in this role?
I am excited about learning new and creative ways to reach our parents and engage them in the school activities and letting them know they have a voice and we are here to help them not judge them. To meet them where they are at and work together as a team to ensure the best education for their child.
Fun Facts - Share a fun or surprising fact about yourself
A surprising fact about me is that I was featured in the January 2024 edition of City View Magazine.
What's one thing you love about being involved with your school community?
I love helping to make a difference in the lives of the teachers, and students that I am blessed to help. To see a teacher's face light up when you come in to assist her in the classroom knowing that my time there with her and the students helps to lighten her load. The hugs and smiles I get from the students let's me know that my presence shows them that I care about each of them and want them to succeed.
