Bio:
I’m a lifelong educator, educational consultant, and family advocate with 30 plus years of experience working with children, families, and educators. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Master’s degree in School Administration from Fayetteville State University.

I’m passionate about helping children and families thrive and believe that strong partnerships between families, educators, and the community make a tremendous difference in a child’s success. I’m also the owner of TAP Educational Consulting, where I support educators and organizations through professional learning and consultation.

What inspired you to become a Family Ambassador?

I was inspired to become a Family Ambassador because I truly believe that families are an essential part of a child’s success. After spending 30 plus years working in education and experiencing the school system both as an educator and as a parent, I understand how important it is for families to feel heard, supported, and valued.

I want to use my experience and passion for children and families to help bridge the gap between families, educators, and the community. I’m excited about the opportunity to connect with families, share resources, listen to their experiences, and help them feel confident advocating for their children. Most importantly, I want families to know that they are not alone and that their voice matters.

What are you most excited about in this role?

I’m most excited about building meaningful connections with families and being a trusted source of support and encouragement. I look forward to listening to families, learning from their experiences, sharing helpful resources, and helping them navigate challenges with confidence. I’m especially excited about using my experience in education to help strengthen the connection between families, educators, and the community. Most importantly, I’m excited to make families feel seen, heard, valued, and empowered to be strong advocates for their children.

Fun Facts - Share a fun or surprising fact about yourself I’m a proud mom of three children who are 30, 23, and 4 years old! Yes, you read that right, a 26-year age span between my oldest and youngest! My children keep me on my toes, keep me laughing, and remind me that parenting is truly a lifelong adventure.

What's one thing you love about being involved with your school community?

I love building meaningful relationships with families, students, and educators and creating a strong sense of connection and belonging. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing families feel heard, supported, and empowered to be active partners in their child’s education.
