General Announcement's

The Hondros Project

We are excited to promote the student-led Chris Hondros Project starting at 9:00 AM to 2:40 PM on April 16. The project's goal is to commemorate the wartime photographer named Chris Hondros. The event will be an art gallery-like experience in the gym with student-taken photographs displayed. We will be welcoming guests ranging from elected officials to CCS personnel, guiding them to photographs, and answering any further questions they have about Chris Hondros.

Chris Hondros was an American wartime photographer who captured the scenes of world crises. He captured the humanizing scenes of wars, such as the Libyan civil war. Additionally, Chris Hondros was a former graduate of Terry Sanford High School ('88.) Unfortunately, he died during the Liberia civil war.

All students are welcome to participate on this amazing project in memory of an a talented FTS alumnus.

CCS to Implement Clear Bag Procedures at Athletic Events

Cumberland County Schools has implemented district-wide clear bag procedures for athletic events. These procedures will apply to athletic events held at our school and at other schools across the district. Each person may bring one clear bag no larger than 12 by 15 by 3 inches. Small clutches, one-gallon Ziploc bags, diaper bags and medical bags will also be allowed. You may also bring items like coats, blankets and strollers, as long as any storage compartments are left open and empty. This update is designed to help keep our events safe and make entry faster and easier for everyone.

For additional information, visit the CCS website. If you have questions, please contact the CCS Office of Student Activities at 910-678-2445.
