Cumberland County Schools (CCS) will be closed for students on Friday, May 1. This day will be an optional workday for teachers and school-based staff, while 12-month staff will follow their normal schedule.
This decision was made after reviewing staff availability, as a significant number of employees have requested leave to attend the education rally in Raleigh. Adjusting the calendar ensures the safety, supervision, and overall well-being of all students.

May 26, 2026 → Added as an instructional day with a 2-hour early release and will serve as the last day of school
