Westearea Students are Thinking Big

Westarea Elementary is happy to announce it is hosting of Bikes for Kids, sponsored by Cumberland County Schools and Olde Fayetteville. This program provided a copy of Think Big. Work Hard. Be Kind. No Excuses by Robert Krumoy to each third-grade student. This program encourages students to promptly adopt positive mindsets that will enable them to achieve their life goals in the future. The third-grade students worked with their classroom teachers, the school librarian, and the counselor to read, comprehend, and apply the themes in this book. The students then wrote essays detailing their future plans and how they would accomplish those plans. The Bikes for Kids foundation surprised each third grader with a new bicycle as a reward for their hard work. More information is available here and here.
