Upward Bound Math & Science Program @Fayetteville State **This program is open to ALL CCS students entering 9-11grades***
Eligibility: 2.3 or higher GPA 9th-11th grades First-Generation and/or low-income based on federal guidelines
The Upward Bound Math & Science (UBMS) Program is designed to strengthen the math and science skills of participating students. The goal of UBMS is to help students recognize and develop their potential to excel in fields in math and science and to encourage them to pursue postsecondary degrees in science, technology, engineering, and math. We serve first-generation and low-income students. Please note that students received a stipend each time they participate in the program and lunch is provided (food cards) even during the pandemic. During times like this, every little bit can help a family.
Some of the services we offer are:
Academic instruction in Math, Research, Foreign Languages, and Science at Saturday Academy from October thru May (all services are currently virtual) *Six-week Non-residential summer research program *Tutorial Services *Exposure to a variety of colleges and universities *Community Service Opportunities *College Tours *Workshops on study skills, math anxiety, note-taking, and test-taking skills. *Work-Study(Rising Seniors) *Exposure to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math careers *Assistance in completing college admissions and financial aid applications *Assistance in preparing and paying for the SAT/ACT and/or PSAT/PLAN
