Glendale Acres School Receives United Way Youth Growth Stock Trust Grant

Submitted by Deborah Dowd

The students and staff of Glendale Acres Elementary School look forward to promoting the
Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) system with a Book Vending Machine
thanks to a generous grant from Youth Growth Stock Trust administered by the United Way of
Cumberland County. The funds received from the grant will assist the school in purchasing an
“Inchy’s Bookworm Book Vending Machine.” The Book Vending Machine will also incentivize
students to read in a fun and creative way. Students will receive golden Inchy tokens as a reward
for positive actions. The Inchy tokens can then be inserted into the Bookworm machine granting
the student a book to read and keep. Students can take the books home to read with their parents
which will additionally encourage parent involvement. The Glendale Acres School family is
very grateful for the support of education by United Way of Cumberland County.
