CCS Board of Education has voted to remain virtual until March 15, 2021. In an effort to maximize student learning we have restructured our instructional blocks to best meet the learning needs of your child. This means your child will receive more synchronous/live instructional time with their classroom teacher. Many of these adjustments are merely reducing the transition times and/or brain break time to allow for more classroom instruction. Your child’s teacher will share specific information with you soon. These changes will start Monday, February 1, 2021.
We are always considering your feedback, analyzing our results and reflecting upon our practice to grow and improve student learning. One of the areas that would assist us as educators is for your child to have their cameras on when they are participating in live instruction. Communication is 20% verbal and 80% body language. Teachers are able to provide much more feedback and instructional support to students when they are able to read students’ expressions on the screen. We know that virtual learning can be a challenge but this is a simple step that can dramatically increase learning outcomes. Also, continue to check Canvas, PowerSchool and Class Dojo to check-up on your child’s academic progress. As always, thanks in advance for your continued support.
