CCS Postpones EOC, CTE Testing

District Officials have postponed high school testing. End-of-Course (EOC) and Career and Technical Education (CTE) testing at high schools in Cumberland County Schools (CCS) will now take place in 2021, following the winter break. The decision to postpone EOC and CTE testing was made with a focus on student and staff safety based on current COVID-19 metrics in Cumberland County.

“The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority,” said CCS Superintendent Dr. Marvin Connelly, Jr. “As of Sunday, November 29, the Case Positivity Rate has risen to 8.8 percent in Cumberland County, and other metrics are trending in the wrong direction as well. We are collaborating with high school principals to determine the best path forward and will share additional updates regarding testing in the coming weeks.”

Based on this change to the testing calendar, high school personnel will return to work onsite beginning January 4, 2021, to assist with reopening preparations, should the metrics allow.
