Cumberland County Schools Celebrates Web Managers
June 7, 2023
Cumberland County Schools (CCS) acknowledged a wonderful group of premier professionals on June 2 during their lunch hours. This event was planned specifically to celebrate the Web Managers who work tirelessly to fill this vital communications role.
CCS Web Manager Angel Hoggard shared that this event began in 2022, after realizing that Web Managers needed to be recognized. This year marks the second celebration to acknowledge the work of nearly 200 Web Managers for the district’s schools and departments.
Dozens lined the perimeter of the parking lot and drove through to receive a catered lunch, a tote bag with various gifts and a heartfelt thank-you note. Dr. Lindsay Whitley, associate superintendent of CCS' Communications and Community Engagement, along with members of the Communications team greeted each Web Manager as they drove through.
When asked about her experience as a Web Manager, Anyonga Blackwell, from Cumberland International Early College High School said, “The best part about being a Web Manager is being able to create on my own.” Some shared stories about the amount of work that comes with this responsibility, as well as how long they have been working in this invaluable role.
“It [being a Web Manager] takes a lot,” said Angel Hoggard. “We want to make sure that all websites are accessible to everyone and are ADA compliant. Everyone that holds this role plays an important part in ensuring that families and community members are informed and connected.”
