Nationally Renowned Children’s Author Dr. Kimberly Johnson to Lead Cumberland Family Academy’s Virtual Masterclass

This month, Cumberland Family Academy (CFA) continues its Masterclasses for Today’s Families series with a special virtual presentation from Children’s Author Dr. Kimberly Johnson titled “Building a Love for Literacy.” The session will be streamed live on Cumberland County Schools’ (CCS) Facebook page from 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 5. 

During Dr. Johnson’s high-energy, interactive presentation, participants will receive timely tips to encourage literacy at home and learn how to utilize teachable moments to spark a love for reading and help students become better readers.

Dr. Johnson, a children’s author and educator, is passionate about education but even more passionate about making sure that educators and families know their value. She grew up in a household with grandparents who could not read or write, yet they encouraged her to be the best person she could be. Now, she has committed her life’s journey to “empowering our children to know that they can succeed, no matter what their circumstances are.” Learn more about Dr. Johnson here.
