District Career and Technical Education Coordinator Receives Honorary State Degree

The North Carolina FFA (Future Farmers of America) Association Board of Directors recently selected Carson Phipps, Cumberland County Schools' (CCS) Career and Technical Education (CTE) coordinator, to receive the highest degree the North Carolina FFA can award—the Honorary State FFA Degree.

The presentation was made during the General Session of the 93rd North Carolina FFA State Convention on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at the Raleigh Convention Center. The NC FFA Association Board of Directors recognized the Honorary State FFA Degree recipients from 2020, 2021 and 2022.

During the session, recipients were presented with the Honorary State FFA Degree on the convention stage. They were also honored at the Friends of NC FFA Reception earlier in the evening.

"We are proud of Carson and his service to the North Carolina FFA Association," said CCS' CTE Executive Director, Chip Lucas.
