More than 100 families from the community rode away from E.E. Smith High School on November 20, appreciative of the food bundles, new and gently-used clothing, household goods and toys they received from Balm In Gilead Family Counseling Ministries, Inc., one of Cumberland County Schools' Committed Community partners.
Hundreds of volunteers from E.E. Smith and other area high schools pitched in on that chilly fall morning to serve as greeters, replenish tables, pack boxes and load items into vehicles at the different drive-thru stops.
Balm In Gilead Ministries' Mini-Community Impact event is being hailed a success by many as families across the community won't have to go without this holiday season because the community cares about making a difference in their lives.
