Foot Locker Donates Over 150 Pairs of Shoes and More to Sunnyside Elementary

Foot Locker of Fayetteville delivered a donation of sporting equipment, schools supplies, clothing and over 150 pairs of shoes to Sunnyside Elementary School (SES) on Monday, September 13, 2021. This is the second year that Foot Locker has volunteered to partner with SES. Sabrina Hicks, a fifth-grade teacher at SES, coordinated with SES assistant principal Latonica McDonald and Foot Locker of Fayetteville to secure the donation.

"This isn't a one time donation," says McDonald, "Foot Locker has committed to the whole year. We are so grateful." The staff of SES will distribute the school supplies, clothing and shoes according to student needs and the sporting equipment will be added to the physical activity area for in-school use. McDonald and Hicks also are working with Foot Locker to have a mentoring program ready, when COVID-19 restrictions allow, to help students who may need extra support.
