Bus Stop Release Information

For the safety of your student, Cumberland County Schools Regulation 6305-R2 requires that all Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students must be met at the bus stop by a parent, pre-authorized adult, or a pre-authorized sibling. The parents/guardian may confirm in writing, as described below, that their 1st or 2nd grader (not Pre-K or Kindergartner) may walk home from their stop unaccompanied. Please list the names and phone numbers of any parent, family member, sibling, neighbor or friend that you authorize to receive your student. For the safety of your student, pre-authorized adults are required to be at the bus stop at least five minutes before anticipated arrival time and come prepared to show identification. If parental consent has not been given and there is no parent/parent designee at the bus stop to receive the student, the driver must return the student to school at the conclusion of the route. Students in grade 3, 4, and 5 may be discharged at the bus stop without an adult present.

If parents would like to give permission for their 1st or 2nd grade child to get off the school bus independently WITHOUT an adult present, please complete the digital form using this link:

Remember, Pre-K and Kindergarten students cannot be released from the bus without a parent or parent designee present (must be an adult). This form should not be completed for Pre-K or Kindergarten students.
