Summer Meals Program

High inflation is creating a hardship for many families. Kids 18 years and younger eat free with the Summer Meals Program which will operate Monday through Thursday, June 6 through July 28, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the locations below.

  • College Lakes Elementary
  • Lake Rim Elementary
  • Margaret Willis Elementary
  • Ponderosa Elementary
  • Rockfish Elementary
  • Sherwood Park Elementary
  • Sunnyside Elementary
  • Walker Spivey Elementary
  • Various Recreation Centers (advance ordering required)

The Summer Meals Program is an opportunity for some assistance while children are home during the summer and as grocery bills are increasing.

Meals will be served in the CAFETERIAS at the schools and in a designated space inside the participating recreation centers. Meals should be eaten on-site. The USDA waiver that allowed meals to be taken 'to go' ends on the last day of school, so 'to go' meals are no longer allowed.

Any summer camps or programs for students taking place at schools between June 6 and July 29 are eligible to receive meals. If your school is not a meal site, the meals can be picked up at the closest site by registering the camp or program to receive bulk meals.

Updates related to the Summer Meals Program will be available on the CNS Department Web page.
