Did you miss Virtual Beginners' Day?

Cumberland County Schools (CCS) is introducing its newest students to the elementary school environment with a Virtual Beginners' Day, which will be held on April 30, 2021.

All children who will start kindergarten in the fall are invited to attend the virtual event, which kicks off the kindergarten registration process.

If you missed this virtual event, you can still view the recording using the password XszB3csf at: Lake Rim Virtual Beginners' Day Recording

“Starting kindergarten is an exciting time for a child, but it can also be overwhelming for both the child and his or her parents,” said Dr. Mellotta Hill, CCS assistant superintendent of Elementary Services. “Beginners' Day will help families navigate the transition to kindergarten and provide important information, ensuring children have a smooth start to their elementary school years.”

Children must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31, 2021, to start kindergarten. Online registration will begin May 17, 2021.

The following documentation is required for registration:
  • Birth Certificate
  • Proof of Parent/Custodian Address
  • Shot Record
  • North Carolina Health Assessment Form
