Forbes Names CCS a Best-in-State Employer
Forbes has named Cumberland County Schools (CCS) as one of North Carolina’s best employers.
Ranked #53 out of 100 in-state employers, CCS is one of only five school districts on the list, joined by Cabarrus County Schools, Lenoir County Public Schools, Wake County Public School System, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. View the list here.
Forbes compiled the data by surveying 80,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 500 employees and ranked the 1,330 employers that received the most recommendations. Surveys were conducted on a rolling basis from October 2020 to June 2021.
“At CCS, we pride ourselves on supporting our premier professionals throughout the district,” said CCS Superintendent Dr. Marvin Connelly, Jr. “We are committed to developing talent pathways that invest in our people by providing professional growth opportunities, career advancement, succession planning and data-driven professional learning. It is an honor to be recognized as a great place to work.”
CCS is the second largest employer in Cumberland County behind the military. There are more than 6,000 full-time employees, including over 3,000 certified teachers that work collaboratively to provide a safe, positive and rigorous learning environment for nearly 50,000 students. CCS offers numerous incentives and benefits to employees. Thanks to partnerships with local businesses and the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, CCS employees also receive special discounts and incentives across the county.
