Disability Pride Month

Even though Disability Pride Month is not nationally recognized many cities and states honor Americans with disabilities in July.  The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law on July 26, 1990.  This law prohibited discrimination against people with disabilities.  Boston held the first Pride Day the same year.  Parades and demonstrations are often held in July to bring awareness, visibility, and inclusion issues to the forefront.
