Sun Bucks is the new summer EBT program that exists in lieu of P-EBT.  There are some differences to the SUN BUCKS from the former P-EBT program.
A big difference - students do NOT automatically qualify because they are enrolled in a CEP school and receive free school meals.  They must qualify the same way students do in non-CEP Schools - either by being direct certified (receive SNAP, TANF or Medicaid benefits), categorically eligible (homeless, foster, or migrant), or have qualified for free or reduced meals using an income application.
Students who may need to apply can do so in 1 of these 3 ways:
1. Online through
2. You can call 1-866-719-0141 to have a SUN Bucks representative assist with filling out an application over the phone.
3. You can submit a paper application. You can get a paper application from the school’s main office or you can call 1-866-719-0141 and speak to a SUN Bucks representative and ask for a paper application to be mailed to you.

Please note, the digital application is the preferred method of applying. Paper applications may take longer to process.
For questions about Sun Bucks please visit the website, or call 1-866-719-0141.
Families are encouraged to keep their contact information up to date with their child's school and with their local Department of Social Services if receiving nutrition or other benefits, so they do not miss out on the potential SUN Bucks benefit.
