CCS Waives School Uniform Requirements for 2022-2023 School Year

"Need to Know" Update July 17,2022

CCS Waives School Uniform Requirements for 2022-2023 School Year

Cumberland County Schools (CCS) will pause the enforcement of all CCS school uniform dress codes, districtwide, for the 2022-2023 school year. This pause is necessitated by supply chain and uniform availability issues that we have verified with major area retailers. Some stores said that it would likely be late September or October before they received sufficient inventory. Parents of children who attend uniform schools may continue to send their children to school in uniforms if they desire to do so and are able to locate them, but there will be no penalty imposed upon a student for a uniform violation during the 2022-2023 school year. However, the district’s student dress code requirements will remain in place for students attending all CCS schools, meaning that all students will be expected to wear school-appropriate attire, even if they opt not to wear school uniforms.

Free & Reduced Meal Application

Cumberland County Schools (CCS) has opened the Free & Reduced Meal Application for the 2022-2023 school year. Starting immediately, parents and guardians are urged to submit the application online by visiting www.LunchApplication.com. USDA waivers and approvals that allowed universal free lunches are ending. While all students throughout the district can still receive breakfast at no cost, students at non-Community Eligibility Provision schools must pay for meals or qualify for free lunch for the upcoming school year. The Free & Reduced Meal Applications must be submitted each year and can be done online to reduce paperwork at the beginning of the school year. Families can visit the CCS Child Nutrition website to find more information about CEP schools, meal prices, the Free & Reduced Meal Application and so much more.

Bus Transportation Survey

The 2022-2023 Student-Intent-to-Ride Survey is now available. Please complete the survey which is located on the Cumberland County Schools' Transportation Website regarding your student's school bus transportation needs for the upcoming school year. The survey must be completed by August 3 in order to be included in the initial bus route for the first day of school.
