Principal's Minute Week of April 26, 2021
Manchester Principal's Minute
Good evening, Eagle Families. I am Kailey Hill, principal of Manchester Elementary School, and this is your Manchester Principal’s Minute.
We’re excited about the Cumberland County Schools’ RISE summer learning program. As it pertains to the elementary level there are two components of the program. One component is by invitation for students who have demonstrated a significant delay in learning or are at risk for retention. Invitations will be out soon.
The second component is for any student regardless of academic achievement to help prepare them for the upcoming year. Check out this quick 2 -minute video for more information.
EOY & EOG Assessments
End of Year and End of Grade assessments begin Monday, May 3rd. We will complete EOG small group testing May 4th and 6th, but the majority of our third through fifth graders will test the week of May 10th. State law requires that students take the End of Grade tests in person so families of our remote learners will need to plan accordingly. Those remote learners who will need bus transportation should notify assistant principal Phyllis Smith.
Beginners’ Day is Friday, April 30th
This Friday, April 30th, at 9 a.m. and at 6 p.m., we invite parents and guardians who have children who will enter kindergarten in August to join us. This one-hour session will provide you with the information you need to know to enroll your child and prepare them for school.
The following documentation is required for registration:
Remember, your child must be 5 on or before August 31, 2021, to enroll.
Do not wait until the last minute. Beat the rush and meet with us Friday, April 30th, at 9 a.m. or 6 p.m. We will hold a Spanish Beginners’ Day on May 6th for any Spanish speakers who would prefer to discuss this information in their first language.
