Ron Phipps serves as the associate superintendent of evaluation and testing. Phipps has been with CCS for 30 years, his entire working career.
Phipps received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History with a teaching certificate in Social Studies and an endorsement for Health and PE from Methodist University. While at Methodist, Ron played on the Varsity Men’s Tennis Team where he was a 3-time member of the Dixie Intercollegiate All-Conference Academic Team, 2-time member of the Dixie Intercollegiate Conference Coaches Select All-Conference Team, and 2-time Methodist Men’s Tennis Most Valuable Player.
He received his Master of Educational Leadership degree from Fayetteville State University. Phipps began his career as a teacher and coach at Anne Chesnutt Junior High School, then served as an assistant principal at South View High School and Mac Williams Middle School and as principal of Beaver Dam Elementary School.
Phipps has also served as director of elementary education, executive director of testing and assistant superintendent of evaluation and testing.
In 2017, Phipps was named the Clyde Davis RAC 5 Testing Coordinator of the Year and in 2018, was named the Dr. Joseph Locklear/Ricky Lopes Cumberland County Schools Central Services Employee of the Year.
