The Buccaneer Battalion at Jack Britt High School strives to make our cadets better citizens and leaders in their communities. We uphold the mission statement of the JROTC program and are proud to say that we are an Honor Unit with Distinction.

Rules and Regulations
- Respect yourself, your fellow cadets and the instructors at all times.
- Raise your hand and ask for recognition before you speak or ask a question.
- Sharpen pencils and have study material ready before class begins. All students should have a binder available to maintain study materials and hand-outs.
- All cadets should be in formation in the atrium before the bell. Do not be late to formation or the classroom.
- Cadets should use the restrooms prior to entering the classroom. Every cadet walks past the restroom 3 times prior to classroom instruction. Cadets will be afforded the opportunity to use the restroom when marching from the atrium to the classroom.
- No gum while in uniform.
- Bring all JROTC material to class. Cadets will not be allowed to return to their lockers for PT uniforms, uniform parts or anything need required to bring to that specific class. Cadets will not place their books in the atrium during formation. All books and personal belongings should be in the classroom during formation.
- Sit in chairs/desk only, not on the back shelf or on the desk surface
- Cadets must dress out for physical training in the provided Army PT uniform and tennis shoes (no flip-flops/slides/house shoes). Failure to dress-out in the provided uniform will result in a zero for the participation grade. Varsity athletes with a game/match that day will be required to dress-out but will not be required to participate. Varsity athletes will stretch and assist instructors with set-up, water and running the events. No other club or recreation sports are included in this exemption. Injured cadets must still dress-out and will participate within the limits of their injury. Students must have a doctor or parent note if they have an injury. Cadets will not sit idle during PT even if they are exempt from conducting certain exercises. Those with injuries will participate in stretching, walking or whatever their injury allows. Cadets will receive 50 points for dressing out in the proper uniform and a max of 50 points for participation.
- Cadets who receive in-school/out-of- school suspension will be removed from leadership positions for the semester and be demoted in rank.
- Cadets must wear their uniforms the WHOLE Day on Wednesday for inspection. Failure to wear the uniform or changing out of the uniform after class will result in a zero for a grade. If a student is absent on Wednesday, they must wear their uniform the next day they attend school to receive a uniform grade for the week. Failure to do so will result in a zero for that week’s uniform grade.
- Male Cadets will not wear earrings in the JROTC classroom or in uniform per Cadet Regulation 145-2.
- Male Cadets will be clean shaven on Wednesdays and Fridays when wearing an Army uniform. Points will be deducted from the grade if unshaven.
- All cadets are expected to participate in parades and community events. Cadets will be expected to provide a written note if unable to participate.
- All Cadets must have their hair styles in accordance with CCR 145-2. Failure to get a haircut or blatantly ignore the regulation will result in a zero for the weekly uniform inspection grade. Additionally, you must have a proper haircut before receiving your ACU and PT uniforms.
