Stoney Point Elementary School
September 27, 2021
Good evening parents, this is Michael Tucker calling from Stoney Point with announcements for the week.
COVID screening and testing will begin tomorrow. Every Tuesday our testing partner MAKO will conduct Covid testing at Stoney Point for all students and staff that have signed the consent for testing. This is not a requirement but is a free service for those that register. You can register your child for testing on the CCS Homepage. If you have registered your child please remind them that they will be tested tomorrow.
Parents the deadline for the NC Health Assessment and Immunization records has been extended. Students will be allowed to return to school as the Governor has issued an executive order extending the 30 day grace period. We will need written documentation of a doctor's appointment no later than October 8th. All documents will need to be turned in to school by October 30th.
Our PTA General Meeting and Curriculum Night will take place Tuesday at 6:00 PM. This will be a virtual event using Webex. Links to join will be shared by your child's classroom teacher using Dojo / Remind or email.
Finally, we have received confirmation that a member of our school has tested positive for COVID-19, and we are working with the local health department to address the situation.
The identity of the person will not be shared to protect their privacy.
The person is excluded from school and events. A CCS Contact Tracing team is conducting contact tracing and working with public health officials to ensure contact tracing is completed.
Contact tracing involves identifying people who may have been in close contact with a school family member (within six feet for 15 minutes or longer over a 24-hour period) and advising them about what to do.
If you were not contacted by the CCS Office of Health Services or the Cumberland County Department of Public Health, your child was not determined to be in direct close contact with the individual who tested positive.
Parents need to remember that if their child exhibits any signs of illness, you should keep your child at home, let the school know, and contact your healthcare professional. Thanks for your support and have a good evening.
