Chinese New Year
With being a Chinese immersion school, we celebrate Chinese New Year. Many of the Immersion classes will perform songs, skits and dances from the Chinese culture
-
Dances
Each year our PTA puts on dances for the students after school. This is a time for the students to just relax and have fun together.
-
Digital Learning Day
Since we focus on preparing our students for jobs that don’t even exist yet, we focus on utilizing technology year round. However, on National Digital Learning Day, our focus shifts to creating with technology. Students love coding, creating and experimenting on this day.
-
Kindness
Teaching kindness is always an important goal at NCIES. However, occasionally our counselors lead Kindness Counts activities school wide. For example, each classmate does a link in the kindness chain while discussing what the children can do to be more kind and change the school, community, and world. Then as the chain is completed by the classes, we come together and unite them as a school! This demonstration shows how one act of kindness can create a chain reaction and make NCIES a better place!
-
Panda Skate Nights
Panda Skate Night is a fun night that students and staff all enjoy. We come together at Round-a-bout skating rink to let loose from the day.
-
Pinwheels for Peace
Mrs Gaines take art to a peaceful level. Each class completes a pinwheel. Then they are displayed in the courtyard in the word peace. Skits, dances and even essays are presented to tell us what peace means to them!
-
Sweet Frog Night
What could be better than fro-yo and NCIES? Nothing tops the frozen yogurt nights when our students and staff relax together and enjoy the sweet treats.

Veterans Day
While Veterans Day is important to all Americans, we are blessed to be located near Fort Bragg Military Base and have a lot of military connected families and staff. Our students create artwork, poems and letters giving thanks for the service and sacrifices our Veterans have made. Each student can invite a military connected family member, whether active duty or retired, to join us for a school wide program and breakfast.
