Dear Parents,

As your administrators, we take great pride in welcoming you to Douglas Byrd  Middle School!  We are a dynamic school community that is working hard to improve in order to meet the ever-changing needs of our students and community.   Our goals for this year are to provide effective instructional leadership for our teachers, build a positive school culture, maintain a safe and orderly learning environment, set high expectations for all students, and enjoy time shared with our staff and students. We believe all children will learn and grow, and are committed to our students’ academic, athletic, social, and emotional growth and success.  We encourage students to be accountable for their learning and responsible for their actions, and expect parents to be the key stakeholder in their child’s success.  Failure is not an option at Douglas Byrd  Middle School.  Please accept our best wishes as we continue our journey towards continuous improvement.
