Currently, 284 students in grades 6-8 attend the school. The plan proposes that the Ireland Drive Middle School facility become part of the neighboring Douglas Byrd Middle School facility. Ireland Drive Middle School students would be reassigned to Douglas Byrd Middle School. The 6th graders would attend classes in the Ireland Drive facility and 7th - 8th graders would be taught in the Douglas Byrd facility.
