Nick Sojka joined CCS in 2018 as the Board of Education attorney. Previously, Sojka served as general counsel to three Cape Fear region public school systems, including Hoke, Scotland and Clinton City and has represented numerous others in specialized matters.
Sojka received his bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary and graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law.
In 2009-2010, Sojka served as the chair of the N.C. Council of School Attorneys. He has also been a member of the Governor’s Commission on Access to Sound Basic Education. In 2017, he received the Marvin R. Pittman Champions for Education Award presented by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
Sojka is an Elder for the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. and served as a member of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation Community Leadership Council from 2013-2015.
