Our mission is to provide a safe, positive, and rigorous learning environment to prepare lifelong learners to reach their maximum potential. Serving nearly 50,000 students at 89 schools, we are focused on meeting students' diverse learning needs. Our fully-accredited school system has a diverse student population representing more than 75 different countries and 82 different native languages. More than 13,000 CCS students are military/federally connected.

Forbes Names CCS a Best-in-State Employer
Forbes has named Cumberland County Schools (CCS) as one of North Carolina’s best employers. Ranked #53 out of 100 in-state employers, CCS is one of only five school districts on the list.
CCS Wins "Outstanding Website" Award
Cumberland County Schools' (CCS) national award-winning website has received another noteworthy recognition. CCS recently received the "Outstanding Website" award from the 2021 WebAwards.
CCS Earns Top Awards in Communications
The North Carolina School Public Relations Association (NCSPRA) has honored Cumberland County Schools (CCS) for excellence in communications. CCS earned a total of 12 Blue Ribbon Awards for outstanding and effective communications.
