NC Read to Achieve Program
The North Carolina Read to Achieve program is a part of the General Assembly’s Excellent Public Schools Act (pages 38-45), which became law in July of 2012, and applies to all North Carolina K-3 students.
Cumberland County Schools is providing resources to aid parents in better understanding the facets of the North Carolina Read to Achieve program and how it applies to their child’s education. The information contained in the North Carolina Read to Achieve Guide is pertinent to parents of all students in grades K-3, as it outlines in detail the North Carolina Read to Achieve Law. The goal of this legislation is for all students to become proficient readers by the end of third grade.
