Welcome to
Glendale Acres Communication/Foreign
Language Academy! Glendale Acres is a public
primary school in the Cumberland County
School System in Fayetteville, North
Carolina. The school was built in 1966 and
serves Kindergarten through second
grade. Ashley Elementary School is our
'sister school' which third- through
fifth-grade students attend.
Glendale
Acres is a School of Choice, focusing on
communication skills and foreign
language. The communication component of our
choice program concentrates on the
enhancement of reading, writing, listening,
speaking, and viewing. Students develop
basic skills in Spanish through the foreign
language component of our choice program
with weekly instruction by the Spanish
teacher.
Glendale
Acres is committed to providing a safe and
caring environment that will ensure success
and nothing less. Through a variety of
instructional approaches and student-focused
decision-making, we strive to enable
students to become lifelong learners and
productive citizens.
It is the
belief of the Glendale Acres faculty and
staff that the children entrusted to our
care are unique, progress at their own rate,
and have diverse needs and abilities. They
must be provided with a solid foundation
upon which their educational experiences
will be built. As we guide our students
through their daily activities, we strive to
create an environment that will encourage
them to reach their highest academic
potential while fostering emotional,
physical, and social development. We strive
to help students develop independence. Our
faculty motivates students through effective
teaching techniques to think clearly,
critically, and to make sound judgments with
respect to self and others.
We utilize
parents and other resource persons within
the community to help our students. Our
school motto, “Learning with Love and
Laughter”,
epitomizes the nurturing environment
provided at Glendale Acres.
