South View High School

Welcome to South View High School. We invite you to visit with us and tour our school. In so doing I am sure you will readily observe our strong emphasis on safety, cleanliness, active student involvement, and Total Quality Education.

Home of the only International Baccalaureate Academy in our region, an internationally accredited college preparatory program, students in this program receive college level instruction in a well-rounded curriculum. Upon completion of courses, students can take nationally recognized examinations that may earn college credit. South View High School offers more advanced courses and exams through Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate than any other public or private school in the county.

Our Freshman Academy guarantees that our ninth grade students get off to great start in their high school career. We created the Freshman Academy in order to help students make a more positive transition from middle school to high school. At South View High School, we take pride in the family atmosphere we have created.

We are proud to offer the only Jostens Renaissance Initiative in our region. This process is an inclusive venue for promoting academic excellence, personal responsibility, and citizenship while rewarding academic improvement and attendance. At South View High School, our goal is not only to educate but to develop productive citizens and stakeholders for the future. Through Renaissance, we are able to recognize academic and personal growth. Awards include: Academic Letters, Leather Portfolios, Letter Jackets, Dinner Banquets, Pizza Parties, Academic Pep Rallies, and much more.

In the realm of extracurricular activities our program is unmatched not only in the county, region and state, but also on a national level. The South View Athletic Department is much more than thirty-seven different teams playing games. It is a total program that excels on different playing surfaces, excels academically in the classroom, and does a tremendous service for the community.

South View High School has an award winning Cultural Arts Program. We are home to one of the strongest and largest Cultural Arts Departments in Cumberland County. We currently offer a variety of venues for students to become involved in and to develop their creative abilities. Our Tiger Marching Band is 181 members strong and includes the Marching Tiger Drill Team. Our band program is proud of its many awards and invitations to play at numerous locations. For over 15 years, the Marching Tigers have carried a Superior Rating. Other Cultural Arts courses available at South View include Dance, Chorus, Orchestra, and Art. Many students have become award-winning artists as they progressed through our arts program.

Visit our community, talk to students and parents about our school. I am sure you will see why our student population continues to grow even though our geographical district size continues to decrease.
